Chessfitness: a new series of competitions.

Chessfitness: a new series of competitions.

Chessfitness is a series of competitions with the game of chess combined with physical exercise. This concept was developed, as competitions, by Montu Das (india) and Volfango Rizzi (Italy) in September 2024 with inspiration on the work done, in the first decade of chessboxing, by Iepe Rubingh and the Berlin Chess Boxing Club (the first chessboxing club in history). The competitions can be both individual and team. In addition, even the individual competitions can be used to get a team standing.

The various types of chessfitness competitions can also be used as training exercises without any competition involved and it is a very useful training for the sport of chessboxing with also its variants of chessboxing-Light and chessboxing-Fit.

The individual and team competitions will be trialled on 20th October in Milan on the second day of 6th FISP National Gathering (the first day will be in the city of Vigevano and it will include the 2nd Italian Chessboxing-Light and 2nd Chessboxing-fit Championships).

Both days are open to chessboxers and chessboxing trainers from around the world.

The types of Chessfitness competitions:

1. Team Chessfitness Circuit

2. Individual Chessfitness Circuit

3. Chess-Track (or chess-running)

4. Chess-Sprinting

5. Punching-bag Chess

6. Burpees Chess (or any individual exercise-chess)

The rules of these chessfitness competitions will be published on this website at the end of October or beginning of November 2024.
